I had the El Paso Times delivered 7 days a week but have cut back to Sundays only. Even then I rarely read it as it's old news I already saw on KVIA or at ElPasoTimes.com. ElPasoTimes.com now has a pay wall that I bypass with Chrome's incoginto-window option.
I also visit kvia.com, kfoxtv.com, ElPasoDevNews.comm and occasionally ElPasoInc.com.
There used to be some good political blogs but now just the slanted RefuseTheJuice.typepad.com giving an insight into city hall bickering and childishness.
NewspaperTree.com is back but is disappointing - but it does have a handy bridge wait time update on the front page.

Where do you get your El Paso news?

I like kfox, kvia, and EP Times on FB. I read articles as they post them. Believe it or not, tmz is pretty timely on huge world events.

I get an email from kfox and kvia sent to my Hotmail account or I look for ELP news on the web. ITs free whereas you have to pay for the EL Paso TImes. I like to know what is going on in my hometown!

I presume you're referring to the print version of the Times?

I read the online version daily and so far it's still free. I've seen nothing that blocks content unless one pays for it, other than their archived articles. My favorite column is the "occasional" new article in "From the Morgue" - which reprints selected historic articles from the Times archives.

I've never encountered a pay wall at the EP Times website either. It is my primary source of EP news, since I live out of town. Sometimes I'll check out the KVIA or KFOX websites.

Thanks Katzpaw. I go to that website almost every day and sometimes read 2 - 4 articles. Obviously, I've never reached my 30-day limit thus far. I guess I'll have to start being more selective!

I take the EPT only for the local news as I can get national news online from better sources. I don't like their editorial slant but that where most information I want to know is located. I like getting the EP Inc online, but too cheap to subscribe. TV is pretty limited. Only stay with KTSM because of Chuck de Broder.

While I read the online version of the El Paso Times every morning, I never have received a message saying I must pay for additional access - as I've already stated.

As for local TV stations, the top five all have web sites where you can get the very latest news, including local news, just as if it were a newspaper. So if you find yourself unwilling to pay for your internet EP Times news, there are the TV web page options.
