I know this is the El Paso forum but thought I would post here rather than the Mexico forum. Anyway,

Does anybody know if there is still bullfighting in Juarez? I have searched the internet but I have been unable to find any information.

Bullfighting is a dying tradition (thankfully). To my knowledge all of the bull rings in Juarez were torn down

Yes, very infrequently. The sole remaining bullring is in downtown Juarez, "Plaza de Toros Alberto Balderas", on Av. Francisco Villa and Calle Abraham Gonzalez. I frequent Jrz a lot and occasionally see street posters advertising the next bullfight, maybe twice or three times a year.

Looks as if Google's "Street View" camera last was at the Juarez bull ring in 2009. I've attached the screen capture from Google to this message.

I don't know the current status of bull fighting in Mexico, but three states voted to ban it altogether in recent years. A bill narrowly missed being passed in Baja California/Tijuana, which would have made a 4th state.

I would never attend but always root for the bull- kill the matador and run loose in the audience and trample the crowd.

Hey me too!!! If those matadors wanted to show how tough they were they could very easily find a boxing gym in Juarez who would definetly allow them to express themselves.

I had gone in the 60's and 70's. I don't recall when it stopped. But it is back.

There's some sick puppies out there. I won't even say what I think should be done to the sick-o's who torture and abuse animals. There's something seriously wrong with people who like to watch this torture too IMO. I don't know what kind of sick thrill it gives them, but their attendance at these sick events keeps the torture continuing. Bullfights, cockfights, dog fights, it's all sickening.
