Nice to compare what the salaries average out to in different cities compared to El Paso.

Yep, the signs are becoming apparent of the steadily increasing level of pay in El Paso. About time.

I found mine in Houston but not in El Paso. Guess it's a really small type of job here but huge in Houston.

If I found a job that pays the same or more in EP as in Houston area I would move back in a second. Not likely to happen though

And you do what exactly? My job pays more too in Houston but most areas around there have much higher taxes. The nice ones.

Default How much higher?

danieloneil01,

The taxes here in Houston are higher, about 3-4% higher. If the same job in Houston pays more than 4% than El Paso, then you net more in Houston for the same job.

Property Taxes in most areas in Houston like where I live(fixing to be lived), The Woodlands, Pearland, Sugar Land have about a 20% higher tax rate than most areas in El Paso and surrounding. Compared to my taxes for the year at 6k+ on a house bought at 140k, thattax rate in El Paso is hard to find.

My job in Houston (brother does the samething) at top pay makes $8 more an hour.

PS, But gas is usually 30-40 cents cheaper in Houston

Mine wasn't on the list either. Its a grant funded program so not all have it. Still surprised at some of the El Paso results compared to other cities.
