Default At least they are doing something...

Something is better than nothing, but you are right, it is painfully slow. I see now that the city wants to hear from people living along and around Alameda what they would like to see done. The people want chic restaurants, clubs, shopping, etc.

There is nothing wrong to fantasize, but that is what this is. Much of the roadway along Alameda is blighted, it would have to be condemned before the city could do anything, I don't see property owners giving up anything for free, especially in El Paso.

So while the city architects a plan, creates models, create mission statements, etc., it would be a long time before it would become reality, given the fact that so much other work is not done that has already be started. I won't go so far as to say that it won't ever happen, but my guess is that it will not happen in my lifetime.

Did you mean the new Federal Courthouse? I don't remember hearing about anything going on at the county courthouse, but yeah I agree with you. El Paso is always slowly dragging behind with major projects, but once they are finished they will be worth the wait. I can;t wait to see the new African Exhibit at the zoo when it opens.

BTW, love that copper look on the new federal Courthouse. Looks sharp and also just slightly changes downtown''s skyline.

Redd Road (Doniphan to Montoya) has finally re-opened and the improvement was well worth the wait. Now its a nice road to no-where - waiting another 10 years for an extension across the Rio Grande to be approved.
