They should all say, thanks, Herb!
Yeah, cause I'm sure an internet forum is the best place to get your name out....

Where was Cain's smoking ad released? Prime-time TV?

YouTube.

And you don't think there is a lot of cross-pollination between blogs, forums, chats, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook?

Compared to YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook, I really don't think you can compare a City-Data thread that may be forgotten next week to them.

The ad was seen on The Colbert Report and several news stations (I'm sure NOT because of a forum), because of the way the ad is, not because it's a big statement. Cain's ad is a big deal the same whay Snooki getting punched in the face was a big deal on Entertainment Tonight.

So these other ads will only be shown if they are as strange as this one.

That's kind of the whole point of the discussion--bad ads aren't all that uncommon, but when they're so bad that they get pulled from the obscurity of youtube so you can be the butt of jokes on comedy central....not good. There really IS such a thing as bad publicity. When you become a national joke, you're no longer in the running for the presidency. Not that he really is anyway--more like in the running for the speakers circuit.

It also shows that you don't speak for me "cause" you have no idea who is/is not going to be president, and if you think people just "want to seem different" so they just "like" Ron Paul for the heck of it you probably don't understand the reasons behind my (and other peoples) support for him. If I just "wanted to seem different" I certainly would not have donated money to the campaign, but sure, you know more about why I support him than I do.

This would have been a badass campaign ad had it been 6 seconds shorter.

So people who are supporters of Dr. Paul only support him because they want to "seem different"?

That is your theory huh?
