Outside of his niche, I don't see Cain having mass appeal, regardless of color. If he was in a race against Obama I'd suspect he'd get clobbered. I will never say never, stranger things have happened.

He would be great, but I don't think he could do the 999. I also think he is running against DC establishment politicians who want things the same. They don't want people nominated that want things in a balanced budget.

My, I do love watching white men tell everyone what black people will do or what they think of a candidate, simply amazing, especially since at least one of them is an outright racist.

One thing to keep i mind is black unemployment is at epedemic levels. I have heard Affrican-American groups complain that Obama is basically ignoring the black community and their problems. I think this is because he takes the black vote for granted and he mostly can get away with doing that.

My prediction is that no matter who the GOP candidate is Obama will get at least slightly less of a % of the black vote compared to 2008. Also I wouldnt be surprised at all if black voter turnout is down. The hope and change thrill is gone for everyone, the results are in and they are nothing to get excited about.

Probably common sense based in reality

I think they would be shocked and thrilled because their family, schools, and liberal mainstream media have brainwashed them their entire lives into believing that the US is the most racist country on Earth, and yet this racist country would have two black Presidential hopefuls from two different parties. That ruins the whole cultural narrative they've believed as surely as they believe in Jesus.

Cain & many other Black people might be quite offended by your conclusion...Flaming Liberal OddBall84...That Black's who are Conservative can't think for themselves. Can't decide with their vote - which direction this country should go.

That seems racist in itself.

Do you OddBall84 think that Herman Cain is an Uncle Tom?

Many Americans are looking at Herman Cain as the leader in the Republican race. He speaks to Conservatives in principle, better than Romney or Perry.

The Black vote will be a factor, but White Conservatives will vote for Cain overwhelmingly over Obama.

Not really. Alan Keyes ran against Obama for the U.S. Senate in Illinois; none of the state's voters were impressed. He's articulate but, like Cain, had no part of his platform that seemed viable. Obama ate him alive.

If it is 'common sense based in reality' why is it not articulable? Give me an articulable argument based on facts & logics. Not vaporous pronouncement stacked upon vaporous pronouncement.
