I know the neo-con warmongers have their heads deep inside the sand and believe that they know better about our foreign policy than the actual soldiers fighting the wars.
But heck, if it will open at least 1 eye..check out a couple of polls from afforums.com. In both of them, Paul winds handily.
If you *really* support our troops, you will listen to what Ron Paul has to say.
OK, now let's wait for the 4-5 Ron Paul haters on the board to come and inform us as to how useless these polls are and how "Islamo-fasciso-socialistic-nazis" will eat our American babies for dinner with falafel and hummus.

This is some dumbass logic. If I *really* support our troops I'll vote the same way as 28 people in an message board poll because it is an Air Force forum?
If they did a broader more scientific poll and it showed majority support for Obama among military members would you then switch your allegiance to him to prove you *really* support our troops?

NYT: 'Soldiers' Choice' Ron Paul*|*Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign Committee (http://www.ronpaul2012.com/2011/12/24/nyt-soldiers-choice-ron-paul/ - broken link)
Representative Ron Paul, the congressman who favors the most minimalist American combat role of any major presidential candidate and who said all of the above quotes, has more financial support from active duty members of the service than any other politician.
As of the last reporting date, at the end of September, Paul leads all candidates by far in donations from service members. This trend has been in place since 2008, when Paul ran for president with a similar stance: calling nonsense at hawk squawk from both parties.
This year, Paul has 10 times the individual donations — totaling $113,739 — from the military as does Mitt Romney. And he has a hundred times more than Newt Gingrich, who sat out the Vietnam War with college deferments and now promises he would strike foes at the slightest provocation.

If you have already made up your mind that Ron Paul is a bad guy, then you will see everything through that prism. I didn't say if you support your troops, then you will vote Ron Paul. I said if you support your troops, then you will listen to them, and you will listen to Paul and understand that they are saying the same thing.
If you can show me a valid and recent poll where active duty military members and veterans overwhelmingly support Obama over Paul, then yes, I will rethink my position.

I have no idea whether a poll like that exists, would be interesting to see though.
Either way, it is my understanding that Paul has the most donations from private non-military individuals too, yet I doubt he's the most broadly supported candidate given national polls show him at 12% among repubc and the dems would probably be Obama supporters.

most individual donations != widest support
Well, one of the things which is supposed to be his "ceiling", the reason why he cannot supposedly grow beyond a certain percentage, is his foreign policy. And that is because most people falsely believe what our government feeds them in regards to our actions abroad. What I am saying is that, the troops knows best about our foreign policy and not the politicians in Washington. We should acknowledge that something is amiss in what is conventional wisdom to us when everywhere we look, troops and veterans support Ron Paul, when it has been widely circulated by the establishment that Ron Paul will "weaken our military". Think about it - why would troops vote for a man, if they think that the man will weaken the military?? It is in fact the exact opposite. The troops know that Ron Paul's stance will *strengthen* the military.
If more people wake up to the reality of our self-destructive and self-defeating foreign policy, his ceiling will explode...

I disagree that your average military member knows best about foreign policy, anymore than a guy driving the forklift in a warehouse knows best about strategic direction of the company's production operations.

I'm still not convinced that the majority of people in the military would vote for Ron Paul, having more individual donors among the military doesn't prove this.
