There has to be a few white Leroys around. It sounds like a European name afterall. Look at the name Tyrone, which has been falsely catergorized as an African American name when it is historically Irish. Fact: There was a white actor who went by the name Tyrone Power. So his premise is likely wrong about all Leroys are or were black, and the white man who probably bare that name is likely old.

Sure Leroy, like most American names, is a European name ....comes from le roi which is French for "the king."
