Again - looking at how the media influences the masses.

Gingrich won SC and took over the FLA lead. Then big-wig conservatives jumped into action against Gingrich.

Drugde (dug up anti-Reagan quips), Fox News, former Republican Congressmen

And now Drudge has a reader poll showing Romney first and Gingrich last. That makes no sense to me based on the momentum Gingrich had - that he would find himself behind Paul and Santorum.

Then a blog, Legal Insurrection, has a bunch of people who worked w/ Reagan, along with Nancy & Michael, that is endorsing Gingrich.

Reagan Nat’l Security Advisor Bud McFarlane: Reagan's National Security Advisor Endorses Newt Gingrich - YouTube
Reagan Economist Art Laffer: News Headlines
Reagan WH political director Jeffrey Lord: The American Spectator : Reagan's Young Lieutenant
Reagan Policy Analyst Peter Ferrara The American Spectator : Gingrich Frames the Debate
Reagan media consultant Richard Quinn: First Read - Gingrich collects support from former Perry and Huntsman backers (http://on.msnbc.com/y2sPM2 - broken link)
Reagan’s Speechwriting Dir. Bently Elliott: America needs Newt « » Print The Daily Caller (http://thedc.com/xOkDvA - broken link)
Reagan’s older son Michael Reagan: Reagan's Son: Gingrich Exemplifies My Father's Conservative Principles - Fox News
Reagan’s beloved wife Nancy: Nancy Reagan 1995: Ronnie turned that torch over to Newt - YouTube

What do these elite Republicans know about Gingrich that they are not saying?

While I don't know how conservative Gingrich would govern, he does have a track record of leadership and was a big part of the balanced budget in the 90's. That can't be denied. And he does know how to defend conservatism.

Romney still has trouble putting two conservative thoughts together.

There's a disconnect that has yet to be discovered at this point.

The use of the reader poll by Drudge only solidifies the theory to me - that polls are mainly used by news organizations to influence opinion among the rank and sheep.

Keep in mind that Matt Drudge only links to stories. He doesn't write any himself. Also he's more or less covering "breaking news".

Yeah, I realize that (although he has written some stories himself) but don't forget he has full control over what he picks for stories and where they appear on this site. He can ignore a story or highlight it (if he wishes).

Believe me, I speak from experience:

The Horror!

I would much rather preferred that he be reprimanded by fellow Republicans for unethical behavior as Speaker.
