they can try but I doubt it will happen. The senate will probably also go Republican this year..

Democrats cannot take back the House without Blue Dog Democrats. That's a fact. If they can recruit more of those and actually concede to the more conservative values those members hold, then they will win. If not, then it's not going to happen.

I predict the Democrats will gain house seats, but not take back the house. I think the Senate is very much in play, with a slight advantage for the GOP. Emphasis on slight. But who knows. This time two years ago, most savvy political pundits were not predicting the Republicans could get a majority in the House.

Actually the house is up in the air with a good chance of the dems taking it back. The senate on the other hand is going to be tough as there are many more dem seats up for election than there are for the GOP.
Another thing to keep in mind congress has had the lowest approval ratings in the history of the nation and staying extremely low. Also with strong backlash against the tea party, it's very likely a good portion of those tea party gains from 10' are going to go right back to the dems.

I see it pretty much the way you do. Yes, the Democrats will pick up some seats and the Senate is probably going to be close, but the Republicans will prevail I think.

With either of the GOP candidates the stage is set to hand the Dems all three branches of Government in what will be one of the most interesting flips in political history. The GOP loses the Presidential election and both houses.

Add in Reince Priebus the Party leader, who represents the classless sect in the GOP. Comparing our Prez to the ship Capt charged with manslaughter in Italy. Yes, there is Class Warfare! The class vs the classless. We really need to get them out of the way until the real Republican Party returns.
