Crazy. You can thank "institutionalized" blind obedience & the over reliance on peer pressure.

Most of the Catholics I know are horrified that Santorum is out there representing Catholicism in this way. You'd think we'd be a heartier group at this point because of the public shame experienced as a result of the Church's facilitation of child abuse and yet no. Not the same obviously, but shaming nonetheless.

When members of your own religious sect (group) disown you, then something is readily wrong.

Santorum is a bigot. Hands down.

So are these horrified Catholics going to speak out?

Raise a stink? Be heard?

Or will they quietly vote Republican on one issue...abortion...and keep the loonies in office??

I ask because my Rep is Michelle Bachmann, Wacko Supreme, and she gets into office because my district unfortunately has a predominence of One Issue Catholics....they vote for the anti-choice candidate no matter how bad she is...

No offence meant to you at all......but...............

Among the GOP base, there is constant harping about somebody else, some "other," who is deliberately, assiduously and with malice aforethought subverting the Good, the True and the Beautiful: Subversives. Commies. Socialists. *******s. Secular humanists. Blacks. ****. Feminazis. The list may change with the political needs of the moment, but they always seem to need a scapegoat to hate and fear.

Today we are blaming the Devil. Tomorrow; i have no idea.

Oops I forgot he's a complete failure.
Ah, the old "they're afraid of him" canard again. When there is no other argument, it's a good one to use.

Say what? I thought the Pats played a better game! Silly me! (I am a Broncos fan.)

None taken. Well I can only speak for the people I know. Some do vote according to that one issue, but they are the minority and tend to be 60+. But I am surprised that Bachmann doesn't turn off more of the Catholics in your area. She just seems plain old nuts. Then, of course, there's her evangelism, which, in spite of people like Santorum, is not something that a lot of Catholics find appealing or necessary.

Santorum graduated from my high school and we have a Facebook group for alumni against Santorum. But props to the priests and nuns speaking out against Santorum!!! I hope they are given more visibility by the media!!

I'm so glad to hear that many Catholics are speaking out against Santorum! I would suspect that the vast majority of Catholics do not agree with Santorum's overly judgemental statements. The Catholics that I personally know have certainly never been that way.
