There is no doubt that Ms. Rosen and the firm for whom she works is a heavy branch of the DNC. They may not be called the DNC, but they work quite hard and intimately to get Democrats elected across the US. And the quick response from the Obama campaign staff along with her ties to the White House including attending a state dinner makes it clear that she is working for the Democrats' election/re-election efforts in 2012.
So, while Obama directly is not responsible for these words (and I do not blame him for them), they are a reflection of the Democratic Party simply because Ms. Rosen and her firm are in effect hired to work for the DNC.
That said, what Ms. Rosen said and then doubled-down on in a followup tweet was offensive and may actually backfire from its intended result. Remember, her comment along with Obama and other Democrats recent mentionings of Romney are to make him seem out-of-touch and even weird. What Ms. Rosen was trying to do there was make it seem like having Mrs. Romney never work made her odd and (of course) come across wealthy. What it did, however, was come out as since she was not in the workforce, she cannot comment on the economy. In effect, those comments were extremely sexist and degrading to women.
It's amazing how all of the "Political Consultants" and "Campaign Strategists" are always the ones saying the dumbest things. How in the hell do they keep getting hired?
Sounds like the Romney campaign trying to manufacture some controversy. This is little but political Munchhausen-by-proxy here. It won't work. American women are not as dumb as men. They know who is in their corner, and it ain't the Romney's.
Sounds like the Romney campaign trying to manufacture some controversy.
And if he/his staff didn't respond, we would be hearing all day about how Romney doesn't care about women and about his wife, etc. etc.
Look, fact is - if some Republican strategist said something remotely similar about Michelle Obama, it would be all over the place, along with the label of 'racist' thrown out by the likes of Erik Dyson. The comment was offensive to women, who have suffered the most under this 'Great Recession' and certainly went too far. The fact that Ms. Rosen is unapologetic only shows that she means what she said and it will leave a bad taste in many people's mouths for a while.
Was there ever any doubt that this "war on women" was a simply a political tactic and that liberal women would be perfectly willing to eat their own when it came down to the actual issues.
In other words, only stupid women bought into the narrative.
Millions of American women have to raise families, do the wash, the ironing, the budgeting and the shopping, unplug the toilets, rake the yard, paint the kids' bedrooms, help with homework, sit up all night with sick children, care for their parents, AND hold a full time job outside the home to make ends meet. The get less pay than men do and get passed over for promotion because they can't devote themselves to their careers and now Romney thinks their employers should not even have to insure their unique medical needs. Ann is every woman. My heart goes out to Ann and her nannies and hired hands for the remarkable job they have done under the tough circumstances the Romney family has faced.
Does the fact that it's true mean anything? She apparently never has had to work. That's not a condemnation, just a fact.
Have you ever been a mother raising kids? If you think that is not work, you represent all that is wrong wi9h this statement.

And, there's this: If a spouse actively campaigns for the candidate, should they be off-limits? Both Ann Romney and Michelle Obama are out there working for their respective husband's election so, by taking an active role, they make themselves a political target.
Who said that she is off limits? BTW, isn't that a type of work?
Making baseless, moronic statements that hurt your own candidate is what should be off limits. Another major mistake by the Obama camp.

I'm sorry, but it comes with the territory. If Ann Romney is off limits, so is Michelle Obama.
Once again, who, besides you said either of them is off limits? Trying to change the conversation to suit your desires shows what a loser your argument is.

I'm guessing that won't fly with the GOP, will it?
About as much as Mrs Obama saying she has never been proud to be an American flew with the democrats. Still trying to live that one down.
I asked this on the other thread on the same topic. When did Hilary Rosen become an adviser to the Obama Campaign or the DNC? I agree, she is a Dem and she made a Dim statement, but ....beyond that?
She was speaking as a polical operative of the democratic party, a defacto Obama operative. Her statement raises the question as to what the true strategy of the dims is. Actually it states one of their core beliefs. Women are worthless unless they can be taxed.
What has it got to do with obama? The first lady has been kicked around like a soccer ball, but why should I give a rip? I don't, and I don't give a rip if someone states a fact about Ann Romneys career. She never worked, and to claim otherwise, would be a lie.
Your definition of work needs a revision.
Do you even have kids? If so, who raised them? Ask that person if it was work.
