Presidential race tied in Ohio, poll shows

Obama 45, Romney 44

If Senator Portman is Romney's running mate:

Obama/Biden 45, Romney/Portman 45

Keep in mind that Obama's approval is only about 20% (or less) among undecided voters in most polls.

Yes, the eleven percent who are undecided will break about 80/20 in favor of the challenger (see incumbent rule).

Would someone please go untie those two. Not many people like either one of them but it is not nice to tie people up.

Cherry picked poll, even the extreme right rasmussen has Obama +4 and fox news Obama +6

Ohio is going Obama that's for sure. Keep in mind the massive backlash against their new teabagger governor that was trying to pull Walker style attacks on the middle class, that had his middle class attacking bill repealed by the people by solid double digit numbers. Also his approval ratings have been very low.

A rule based on and article written in 1989 and which has been pretty thoroughly debunked in elections since.

Anyway, Ohio will be a slog, but it is interesting that Romney hasn't actually lead in any poll published so far, even if he is close.

No your polls are cherry picked. They are almost a month old.
RealClearPolitics - Election 2012 - Ohio: Romney vs. Obama

Not only that but the left constantly tells us that Fox News and Rasmussen are not to be trusted, and now that's precisely what you're going to hang your hat on?

There are two recent polls out there, Quinnipia (45-44) and PPP (50-43). History shows that generally any weak incumbent needs a 10 pt. lead in early Spring, in order to have reasonable assurance of victory in November.
