This is why Romney won't win Michigan!

First, he is all for the bail out.
Then, he is against the bail out.
Next, he says "Let Detroit go bankrupt."
Then, after GM and Chrysler report positive numbers, he boasts that he is responsible for their recovery.

You mean a lot of enthusiastic people involved in the movement thought they would win. So what? What kind of "poll" is that?

According to Nat Silver, who runs the most sophisticated prediction system there is, says that Obama has a 90% chance of winning Michigan.

He's been wrong quite a few times in the primary including the day of predictions. I wouldn't bet your life on Obama taking the state months and months in advance of the elections based on this guy, especially with the latest poll saying Romney is ahead in Michigan.

I wouldn't bet my life that Michigan would go Republican when it hasn't done so since 1988.

There are an number of reasons why this poll could be wrong, such as the high African American population has a high use of cell phones that don't get polled -- and the lead is within the margin of error.

My stance is that Michigan is in play. Obama probably has a slight lead, but Romney has momentum here.

Yes Michigan has more blacks than the national average - 14.2 vs 12.6% for the national average, but Michigan also has more white non-Hispanics than the national average 76.6% vs 63.7.

If Michigan is not in play...why is Obama spending money here and been here 11 times?

From a pollster that had McCain up by 4 at a similar point in 08 in Michigan.....

Obama is very unlikely to repeat the 08 margin in the state, but its not going to be that close either.

I'd say the general sentiment here from what I see is 50/50 . I still think Michigan could really go either way.. the problem is with the east side of the state.

Gov. Snyder won the election pretty easily though, and has done a wonderful job with our economy here in Michigan so I think that's going to help Romney big time. Snyder has helped our state after Jennifer Grahnolm raped us for her terms.
