Romney up 5 in Virginia? « Hot Air

Quote:
Can Mitt Romney pull Virginia back into the GOP column in November? It’s a tall order. Barack Obama won the state in 2008 by six points, and his $800 billion stimulus bill largely benefited the northern end of the state, where federal government work accounts for a significant portion of jobs in the state. Democrats have had a track record of success in the state, although the 2009 elections turned into a disaster for them. If Romney can carry Virginia, it puts him in position to retake Ohio and challenge in Pennsylvania as well.
One pollster shows him with a five-point lead at the moment (via News Alert). We Ask America shows Romney up over Obama 48/43 in a survey of 1106 likely voters — which would be a remarkable lead against a sitting incumbent at this stage of the race. The same pollster shows Obama edging Romney in Colorado by about four, 47/43, in another state Obama won in 2008.

In before the lefties call this a hard right poll and post a PPP poll from two months ago, saying it is the poll to be trusted...

I should mention - this poll looks more favorable to Obama in CO than most non-PPP CO polls, though he is still below 50%.

And it isn't one of the big polling groups, but it has been fairly reliable.

I really feel these numbers are going to continue to get better and better for Romney. This country realizes we just cannot take another disastrous four years of Obama. Even my friends whom voted for Obama in 2008 realize that and are now supporting Romney.....not that they are changing parties forever, they just say they will not vote for Obama.

The question now is simply the margin and whether the republicans take the senate. If they take the senate and do nothing for two years, as the democrats did, they will be thrown out.

Let us demand competent leadership or change of administration, regardless of party.

nobody has even heard of this poll LOL. Most of the polls show Obama leading in Virginia. You look at the average of all the polls, not just one poll. Repubs are desperate to skew poll results.

They are basically tied in the RCP average in VA, with Obama below 50% in the average and in every recent poll and, more importantly, his approval is below 50% in every recent VA poll where it is asked whether respondents approve of how he is handling his job.

RealClearPolitics - Election 2012 - Virginia: Romney vs. Obama

The last poll that showed Obama ahead in VA (it was a Purple Strategies poll) was conducted 3-4 weeks ago and it was actually a statistical tie.
