This is a strange contridiction. I agree this is not the right course for the RNC with the roll call. but at the same time, the platform of the party has about 10 of the 12 points that the Ron Paul people wanted added including the "audit the fed" platform.
it bothers me a lot that the RNC has chosen to do this but at the same time, RP people should also recognize that RP has had a major impact on the actual direction of the party in the actual platform.
Putting planks in a platform no one follows and the vast majority of people never read is hardly a call for celebration. It also doesn't make up for the fraud, voter intimidation, and arbitrary rule changes that only helped Mittens.
Why bother to have a roll call if they're not going to let it be a true reflection of how their own party supporters voted in the primaries? I've never seen that kind of control freaking mess in my life from a convention.
No, they will vote for RP. So will I, but that was decided a long time ago. Those RP supporters in the hallway were pretty upset.
Yup, the election is over. No major party can alienate 20 percent of their base and beat an incumbent. I'm not a huge Obama fan, but I'll enjoy November nonetheless.
I find it increasingly irritating to see the announcements. Ron Paul got 15 votes from Nevada, and Romney got 5. The announcement was "Nevada - 5 votes for Mitt Romney". No mention of Ron Paul, although he won neveda.
Bad things happen to people who lose by major landslides, election after election.
There's a reason Ron Paul keeps losing by major landslides.
If I were you, I'd worry more about his losing by repeated major landslides, and less about whether people at a convention are nice to him.

It's not a matter of whether people are nice to Ron Paul or not. It's about the powers at the convention changing the rules just to make Romney look better.

That may be true, but it seems like the RNC is trying to humiliate Ron Paul for no reason by refusing to even mention his name when he actually wins a state.
I thought Paul had withdrawn to keep from splitting things. I was very shocked when I heard that Dirty Harry's state had done that.

I thought Romney was the man for the establishment people. Since they run the whole show I don't see how all these things are so fraudulent. They got the man they wanted and now those who will be running for four years can begin getting to it about 2016.
The thing that bothers me most on this thread is the number of anti-Republican people who are so worried about this one. Why do you give a damn if the establishment causes the GOP to lose this fall? I really would like to know this.

If I were you, I'd worry more about Ron Paul losing by repeated major landslides, than whether a convention changes its rules in ways that won't affect the outcome at all.
