No, I screwed up too. 5:15 EST would be 5:15 CDT.

Why in the world would any news outlet other than one in Indiana be saying anything about Eastern Standard Time in August?!?

5:15 EDT would be 4:15 CDT.

Todd Akin to Claire McCaskill: You Should Drop Out - ABC News

Quote:
“The fact that Claire McCaskill is only polling at 48 percent after 72 hours of constant negative attacks on Todd Akin shows just how weak she is,” Akin spokesman Perry Akin said in a statement. “If she can’t break 50 percent after a week like this, Democrats should ask Claire to step down.”

I think Obamas announced several times this week that he's going to seek re-election.. What were you saying about twits?

If it's 5:15 on the east coast, it's 4:15 out here in the midwest. Sounds like we're both ready for (and needing) the weekend, lol.

Daylight savings doesn't end until October here?

LOL.....yep.

Anyway, I'm well aware that it's an hour behind the east coast here (I am in the Central Time Zone as well), but my point was that "standard time" is an hour behind "daylight time."

You know, I can actually see Akin's point. He won the primary fair and square, and I get why he'd be ticked about the national party calling for him to resign when the only people he's accountable to are the voters of Missouri.

I know. That's what makes no sense.

Most of Arizona, most of Indiana, and I believe all of Hawaii don't observe daylight savings time, but the vast majority of the country does for two more months.

Maybe he should have thought about that before he made such a disgusting remark about rape.

"To avoid further confusion, a bill was passed in 2005 to ensure that the entire state would observe daylight saving time from April 2006 onwards, regardless of which time zone the counties followed. However, this law did not stop residents and officials from debating as to whether the state should follow Central Time (CST/CDT) or Eastern Time (EST/EDT).

Indiana is currently split into two time zones. The official dividing line between the Eastern and Central time zones has progressively moved west from the Indiana-Ohio border to the Indiana-Illinois border."

Indiana

Hope this helps
