Ya never know. Rand Paul is crazy enough to get the nomination but probably too crazy to be elected.

On the contrary, I think it's very likely that for the United States' first female president, an advanced age will be a positive asset. We haven't come so far that a measure of gravitas won't be a useful corrective to lingering ideas about women as flighty and unstable - near-70 is sufficiently grandmotherly and matriarchal to serve as a counterweight.

Nice to have a real Westerner, too. Kitzhaber was born in Colfax, WA, and graduated from high school in Eugene, OR. The last president who was born, raised, and lived much of his adult life in a Pacific state was Nixon, forty years ago.

I will be supporting Hillary if she chooses to run.

Looking at Senators I can see Barbara Boxer and Al Franken (LOL) making a run for the nomination.

Cuomo from the governor's list.
69 is not old for a female. Typically they live longer lives.

Stateside, which Democrat you think will take over the presidency in 2016? Biden and Clinton will be too old by then. Andrew Cuomo perhaps? Mark Warner? Rahm Emanuel?

I now understand why I can't find aluminum foil at the Safeway.

Hey, just throwing out a name 'fer Pete's sake. How about Cecile Richards, then?........ Typed as DD ducks for more incoming rotten tomatoes.

Oh yeah, I forgot Nixon was from the northwest. I think the weirdest thing with Nixon is his brother who is a music teacher in Seattle and looks exactly like him.

He was from California, actually. Born in Yorba Linda - where the presidential library is. Cool about his brother, though - didn't even know he had a brother.

BETH, Beth, Beth. Thank you so much for so clearly expressing an honest appraisal of fitness for the presidency. We are suffering from the election of a partial one-term senator with no foreign policy experience, a professor to boot. I am glad to see that you agree, we made a grievous error--and should have known it just from his biography. Thanks again.
