Nah, I don't think the guy is a total loser at all. I admire someone who steps in the ring, even if they get stomped. Competing does not make you a loser, though if you challenge yourself, you definitely lose...a lot. And it seems like he is a good family man, though perhaps not a very good pet owner...

I'll say this about the guy though, he should have just been himself. A moderate guy bending over for the far right is just not pretty. They can never pull it off (only a Bachmann can be that crazy, and only a Perry that dumb), and they just destroy any respect you have for them. McCain did the same thing. But more generally, Romney seems to just be a terrible politician. He lacks the instincts. He obviously has brains and drive, but he should put it somewhere closer to his real talents.
