If one sees Black people voting largely Democrat, it dates back to the Civil Rights movement. Some Black people do see Democrats as the party that is looking out for Black people. Why this mentality of "vote for whoever looks out for the interest of Blacks"? All of this has to do with history. You have to ask "why do people identify with their race first, and then nationality"? It's a matter of history. Blacks haven't exactly been treated like Americans for most of the time they have been in the USA.
They don't care about any of that. To them, black people are children not intelligent enough to think critically or independently. The Jim Crow attitude persists, but in a more subtle fashion.

I looked at the make up of the audiences in both the Republican and the Deomocratic conventions.... WOW.
Race has always been an issue. It continues to be because old wounds have not really healed. I say there is still alot of prejudice, alot of anger, mistrust, and hard feelings. There has been a feeling of "I look out for me because I can't trust anyone who isn't me". Until that feeling ends, until things change for real, then race will continue to be an issue.

Is there any proof of that?

Going to watch the debate and see how big Romney's nose gets when he answers a question lol

You mean like people admitting or even being conscious of their perceptions? not sure that is possible, outside of Stormfront.

Let's just say that there are many Blacks who look at it from the perspective of "Well, it was a Democratic president who gave us the right to vote, and our civil rights". That is the perspective. If Democrats did think as you say, there isn't alot of proof for some people to go on.

How long does one hold a grudge over the past when many alive today weren't even a part of that past? It is people like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton that are making sure that blacks never heal or forget. They keep racism alive for political gain.

What about some of these conservative pundits like Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck?

To say many people do NOT factor in cultural identity or the perception of somebody being from the same walk of life as a factor swaying the vote...is being willfully ignorant.

And I really want to say MOST because "many" might be giving Americans too much benefit of the doubt.

But yes, many blacks have voted and still will vote for Obama because he is black... And the same with white folks and Romney.
