Mormonism has absolutely no part in my decision to vote against Romney and FOR President Obama - unless, of course, Romney was a polygamist, as his ancestors were, in which case, he wouldn't be a candidate at all.

Nope. Clearly the President and his supporter's strengths lie in the diversity and acceptance that have been their hallmark for years. Nothing more prominently defines the GOP than the defining moments of it's past as it became what it is, representative of those among it's ranks.

I guess that Democrats never were tolerant to begin with. Despite what they have been "saying" all these years.

The fastest growing "religious" group in the U.S. is made up of people with no religion at all, according to a Pew survey showing that one in five Americans, about 33 million, is not affiliated with any religion. And yet Pew found that 68% of the religiously unaffiliated say they believe in God.

A politition's religion or lack thereof, is of no interest to me unless the politition makes it an issue.

No. Let people make up their own minds about that. Using faith as a political tool is a republican game.

The Democrats have been morons for not attacking his faith the entire time. Willard got such a glaring free pass on being a cult member. Obama has stood passively by while Republicans accuse him of being a Muslim, something he is not, yet mentioning Romney is a Mormon, which he is, seems to be off limits for whatever reason.

No. Campaigns themselves should at least be above that. Though I do think it is entirely fair to attack him on his quasi moralistic views e.g. premarital sex causes gun violence, and women need to be let out of work early to cook dinner.

Uh, that last comment is wrong.
While the LDS believed this for over 100 years, they also believe that their living President is a seer and revelator. In 1978, their President at the time declared this to be an incorrect interpretation of God's word, and, in accordance with church belief, he got that straight from God.

It could be argued that the church, which has a large missionary effort in the parts of the world where all folks have brown skins, needed to change this out of sheer practical need. But for the Mormons, any revelation is a very big deal, and revelations of this importance only happen extremely rarely.

Since then, there have been no official barriers to the priesthood, which is the first step all Mormon men receive as full members of the church. Any convert must be granted membership in the priesthood to fully participate in all church affairs and rituals.

A member in good standing is one who pays the tithe and attends the church regularly. This alone does not allow full participation in the church.

Obama will never attack anyone for their beliefs. And neither will Romney.

Faith is faith, and faith cannot be proven. Any person who believes in a religion believes, and anyone who does not does not.
