Your relatives' fears are unfounded, IMO. People are always talking about a fear of riots. See this citation from the Bible:

Blue Letter Bible - Help, Tutorials, and FAQs
**Then the chief priests and the elders of the people were gathered together in the court of the high priest, named Caiaphas; and they plotted together to seize Jesus by stealth and kill him. But they were saying, "Not during the festival, otherwise a riot might occur among the people" (Matthew 26:3,4).

He'll have to get used to it. Obama gets 40 threats a day, but goes on about his business like nothing.

Chomping at the bit for a race war is pretty extreme. Why else would they be stockpiling guns and ammo?

The media went nutz over empty chairs hanging from trees but ignores death threats to Romney. Tell me there's no bias here.

It's liberals like Ted Nugent that give all of them a bad name.

Since, according to her, it is her friends and neighbors telling her that's what they plan to do, I'm not about to poo-poo her fears to her face. In certain neighborhoods, fears of riots are more legitimate than in other neighborhoods.
