Duh! Most of the polls we've been seeing have been based on the 2008 party turnouts, which greatly favored Obama. The thrill is gone, as they say. Dems aren't turning out. This early voting Gallup poll confirms that fact.

In short, we're mad as hell and we're not going to take it anymore.

What would you expect the numbers to look like when more Republicans voted early?

Don't underestimate how much Texas is skewing these results. Everyone and their mother down here has voted already and we all know who Texans support.

But I didnt pretend that the one individual I met, represented all Democrats, whereas you are.

When was the last time you were in a nursing home? Many are lucky if they still remember their name.

Tell that to the African Americans in N.C. where they have record turnout. Already 440k have voted...

Summers,

It's going to be razor thin in N.C., the dems registered more people in the run up to the election than the pubs did and right now are getting these people out to vote.

Some highlights...

30% of African Americans in North Carolina age 18+ have already voted.

That's 440,941 voters - 30% of North Carolina's entire 1,480,769 person African American voting age population counted by the Census Bureau in 2010.

That's not 30% of African American registered voters. That's 30% of all African American adults. Because, for one more week in North Carolina, you can register to vote and actually cast your ballot at the same time, all in one stop. So even if a would-be voter is not registered to vote right now, they can still register and vote.

So far, African American turnout is up from 357,160 to 440,941 votes, a 23.5% increase over this same time in 2008.
