Expats do have interest in their former country, and its also hard not to be interested when this political event is on most of the news around the world so maybe if you dont want worldwide opinion on your politics maybe a word to the media to keep it to yourself.

Stay classy. What a great inducement to join the GOP.

Why do people think that this is some earth shattering event?
It's just another national election- one of many. Sometimes the guy I want wins and sometimes not. That's how the system works and, by all accounts, it's still a darned good system. I don't want to live in a country where there is no choice, even if it would mean that my candidate always won.
I respect that my neighbors may have different ideas, feelings, opinions and I wouldn't want it any other way.

Those poor Canadians. Good healthcare, clean environment, less gun violence, less warmaking, more tolerance towards minorities. Oh the horrors!

Please relax friend, I was only joking around.

I agree with much of what you said.

This is just politics.

In the end we are all AMERICANS!

Actually they should move to a country that mirrors their thinking. Ok so Romney is elected and our welfare cost will be reduced

Nice.

Why in the world would I leave the country because my candidate didn't win? A bit dramatic, don't you think?

I survived 8 years of W; and I will continue to survive regardless of who is elected.

Goodness; everyone needs to get a grip. This is politics as usual folks - nothing different.

But Obama is going to win so it's really a moot point for me.

If Romney wins I'll go on being jealous of other countries healthcare, education systems and work ethic policies like I always do.

If Obama wins I'll just hope he can do what he said without as much defense in Washington, hope he doesn't owe to many lobbyists favors and hope I can one day not to be jealous of other countries cooperation and be proud of mine.

I'm not moving but I do hope we grow up someday. I'll continue to vote toward change.

10 Things Most Americans Don’t Know About America

I quote: "The problem with the US is that everyone thinks they are of talent and advantage. As John Steinbeck famously said, the problem with poor Americans is that “they don’t believe they’re poor, but rather temporarily embarrassed millionaires.” It’s this culture of self-delusion that allows America to continue to innovate and churn out new industry more than anyone else in the world. But this shared delusion also unfortunately keeps perpetuating large social inequalities and the quality of life for the average citizen lower than most other developed countries. It’s the price we pay to maintain our growth and economic dominance."

This sums my feelings up pretty well.

= just joking around in that post.

No matter whomever wins life goes on.

But Romney is going to win so I'm not too worried.

I'll say again it's just politics and we are ALL AMERICANS in the end.

But I am worried about our future as a country as well as its leadership and direction.
