I saw this same thing last time I was in Los Angeles. Homeless people living in RV's, cars, etc encircled each city park. These people could probably benefit with housing assistance. They are not the same as the crazy people sleeping on the sidewalk.

Shocking images show the TWO-MILE long vehicle encampment - made up of people living in RVs, trucks and trailers - along Highway 101 north of San Francisco as low income people are pushed out of the housing market

Hundreds of locals in one of San Francisco's wealthiest counties have been forced to pack up their lives into RVs and trailers after being pushed out of the housing market.
Shocking photos show the ever-growing line of trucks and other vehicles along 101 Highway – which now stretches over two miles in one of the largest encampments in the country.
Cities in Marin County, where on average homes cost $1.4million, are pushing for the line along the highway to end after the number of residents living in their cars ballooned during the pandemic.

It’s shocking that the Democrats in charge of California and San Francisco don’t have the compassion to address this heartbreaking situation. Oh well, elections have consequences.

Housing assistance has waiting lists. It can take years to move up the waiting list. Then you have to have good credit and good landlord references. After moving up the waiting list, a lot of people are turned down for assistance. Not everyone will be approved for help.

What surprises me is that some of those RV's are fairly nice. The trash strewn about makes the whole place look like a dump but look closely and some are pretty new and pricey. The solar setups (when done properly) are very expensive. Not so much the panels but the Lithium batteries can run $1000 each and with some of those setups I'm guessing they have 6 to 10 batteries. Then there's the charge controller and inverters. All told it is not uncommon for a complete solar system capable of running an AC to cost $20,000. I get the feeling that some of those RV's with 10-15 solar panels are just collecting them to sell, like the homeless encampments and their bicycles.

Anyone who supports our costly illegal meddling overseas has zero credibility to complain about conditions here in the states
And also this:
