Its one way to measure the credibility of the person you're interviewing if it hasn't been established through other sources. There was nothing unethical or silly about PPP asking the ACORN question this round.
So then, after the credibility of the respondent has been impugned, wouldn't it follow that this respondent should be removed from the sample? What value is there in polling people who clearly know nothing of what they speak?

PPP was also the most accurate national poll in the election. Perhaps they should have "unskewed" this poll?

If you look in the mirror, and don't like what you see, don't blame the mirror...

Yep, typical conservative thinking these days. Conservatives have a problem in which they choose the facts that support their opinions.

Um, no. Just no.

You might do that if the idea was to get a picture of what non-clueless people think. But you certainly wouldn't remove them from the sample and then try to claim that what you've done is representative of the whole population.

What's the value? Last I checked, people who are completely clueless are still allowed to vote, write their congressman, etc. Heck, sometimes they even run for office and get elected (see the crazed conspiracy theorizing about vaccines and autism from this week: Congress hearing on vaccines is a farce of dangerous antivax nonsense. ).

Exactly. Don't like the result? Say it's biased and insist that the data should be thrown out (or "unskewed").

of course only the Republicans are guilty of deciding what facts fit their agenda? Is that what you really think or are you reading too many fairy tales?

Like I said. The poll question is included to show that the people who didn't vote the correct way were clueless.

BTW, Do you believe that the half million or so people who were involved in ACORN simply went back to their regular lives after the organization was disbanded?

I agree with you. Does anyone really think that with all the money and political influence at stake, that ACORN was really disbanded (as opposed to just being reorganized)?

Their history: Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now - Ballotpedia

And their reorganization:
