50% of Romney voters think ACORN stole the election. Difficulty level: ACORN closed shop in 2010. (radical, Barack Obama)

they existed in 2011:
In April, 2011, ACORN entered a guilty plea to one count of felony compensation for registration of voters, for which they were fined $5000
ACORN affiliated groupsAs part of the effort by some chapters to stay afloat by severing ties with the national organization, members and staff of California ACORN founded a new organization, the Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment, New York ACORN members and staff founded New York Communities for Change, and an offshoot of the ACORN organization called Acorn Housing changed its name to Affordable Housing Centers of America yet has retained the same tax and employee identification numbers that it held under its former name.
so Acorn still exists, but instead of 1 national group with 50 chapters, they are now 50 seperat groups
saying that they dont exist, would be like saying Blackwater doesnt exist, because it changed its name to Xe

ACORN was defunct at the time - it's not enough to go to Wiki, you should follow the links as well.
A judge Wednesday slapped the defunct grass-roots community organizing group ACORN with a maximum $5,000

ACORN never had 50 chapters. Do some research, eh?

Individuals in state groups tried to stay afloat (the organization did much more than voter registration), but ACORN as a central entity has no funding, no assets and no existence any more.
Of course, with no evidence of the election being stolen - neither by a non-existent ACORN nor by anyone else - the willingness of Romney voters to grasp for any explanation beyond "we ran the inferior candidate" is definitely - interesting.

Agreed. It was the same in 2000 when Gore lost that election. Only it wasn't ACORN or any other shadow political organization that stole the election....It was the Supreme Court of The United States!!!!
Accusing a non-existent group of stealing the election requires no more mental contortions than the usual birther nonsense embraced by a similarly large portion of the GOP.
For a group that has honed its ability to deny basic logic in the most fundamental ways (global climate change, evolution, etc.), conjuring the ACORN boogeyman is but child's play.
ACORN = A bunch of people who want other people's money.
Actually, if you knew anything about ACORN, you would know ACORN advocated for low-income families by working on neighborhood safety, voter registration, health care, affordable housing, and other social issues.
Of course, according to some conservatives, "low-income families" translates to "moochers" and rich people are the only job creators.
It's a shame, because the Republican Party hasn't always been this brain-dead. This is from the 1956 Republican Platform:
Quote:
Under the Republican Administration, as our country has prospered, so have its people. This is as it should be, for as President Eisenhower said: "Labor is the United States. The men and women, who with their minds, their hearts and hands, create the wealth that is shared in this country—they are America."
