You do realize Obama won the popular vote as well? People who work in government will continue to work in government... why would a government worker vote fir Obama instead of McCain in 2008 since W ran the country the last 8 years?

But he's right. A large proportion of the rich now get that way via tapping into tax revenue streams. With 30-40% of dollars flowing thru gov't hands, how could it be otherwise? I'm surprised that someone smart enough to post a post like yours doesn't see it. I think you will see it in due course.

They would have received more contracts which would have meant more money. So I don't see the logic of saying those are areas where economies are based on government contracting so that means an Obama win. Government contractors always make more money, especially DoD contracts which are some of the largest benefactors of government contracting, under a president who goes to war. Look into the Bush years, business was booming then and lots of advances were made by government backed engineers coming up with better supplies for our soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan.
But in general people think Democrats are the big-government party, as well as the idea that the Republicans supposable are for small government, and Romney ran on the Ryan Budget, which was extreme cuts in the Government.
