You did not read what I said. I said if someone is opposed to "full marriage equality" they are anti gay. Supporting either marriage or civil unions are fine. If your opposed to both then your anti gay. By the way I do not identify as Liberal. I am curious though, do you support same sex couples getting all the same rights and benefits as hetero-sexual married couples?
I don't oppose civil unions for gay couples. I just oppose marriage in the traditional, Biblical sense.
Wrong! Believing in traditional marriage only for a man and a woman does not make one anti-gay. Civil unions as far as I know get the same rights as a real marriage. Why does one have to sacrifice their biblical beliefs in order not to be called anti-gay? You liberals crack me up. No compromise "it's my way or the highway".
There is not one state that civil unions have the same rights as marriage. The federal government doesn't recognize any civil unions. And several states don't even have civil unions.
Blind faith is believing all that exists suddenly emerged from nothing without being caused to do so or that something has always existed and somehow escaped being forever stuck in eternity past.

It makes you look dumb when you tell everyone "this is the greatest place in the world. " Based on what? Many people feel they live in the greatest nation in the world. People living in London love it there and would not think of moving. So too with people who live in Germany and France. Many Americans become X-Patriots and move to these places.

Stop saying out of one side of your mouth that global warming is fake then its not man made. Which is it? Fake or Natures cycle? This is going to be an unwindable hill to die on. You can say we need all the evidence in before we make desisions on how to change our whole way of life ect. But when the Koch brothers commissioned a study and it shows its real and man made, how do you think you can keep fighting it? This is worse than fighting for Tobacco as it affects many more people, All of them in fact.

If some Christian kid is a real christian he/she can just say a prayer in their head and you know what? No one has to know.
What about the scripture that tells you not to be displaying your godliness to be show others how pious you are and pray to your god is secret.

Well that is fine, you are not anti-gay. However with the marriage debate coming front and center I am truly disappointed that no one in congress from the GOP has come forth with an alternative to marriage and introduce a civil union bill at the Federal level. I seem to remember a few say they would be in favor of some sort of legal recognition for same sex couples as long as it is not "too much like marriage". That is anti-gay.
I wholeheartedly agree with the OP, but once you take away all of the bitterness, greed and hatred from the Republican platform, what do you have left? If they did everything you suggest, they'd be comfortable endorsing Obama.
I wish the left would quit attacking the rights beliefs at every turn.

it will never happen: they think we are all a bunch of bigots, we are all right wing, religious nut cases, have no candidates that could win the job as dog catcher, are all white, from the southern states, uneducated, and will need to change our minds to think like they do, in order to win any election...

The only example I can think of where civil unions do not have the same rights is SS survivor benefits and that should be changed. If I pay into SS and I die, it should not make a difference who my partner is, they should have my benefits, if they are more than his/hers. In many other cases civil unions do have the same rights.
