Last time we saw one of these people with a cancelled plan it was a Tea Partier who didnt want to look at other plans. I have a relative being treated for cancer who went from Blue Cross to Kaiser to get better treatment. These kind of stories dont get any press though from the Koch Brothers. AFP has found one person. They should be able to at least say what they were paying before and what they are paying now and if all the plans available excluded their doctor. Some of the complainers have also been in high insurance pools that are subsidized by taxpayers. If you are going from one subsidized plan to another should you be complaining at all? At least the woman is using her true name, maybe someone will come up with the rest of the story.
This is why the Democrats are in BIG trouble for the midterm elections.
The rest of the story is this. She signed up for a new plan at half the cost of her old plan. She was paying $1100 per month and now she is paying $571. She also kept her doctors. Her out of pocket costs are higher now. It looks like she is on a Gold plan with a $1,000 annual deductible and $20 office copays.
