Would the handsome, lanky, South Dakota Senator John Thune be a good choice for the GOP in 2016 as president or vice president? What would he add to the GOP?

Thune could be a dark horse choice in 2016. He could do well in Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota.

I have to admit that I know much less about Thune than some of the others, such as Rand Paul, Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, etc. I do recall that Sen. Arlen Specter talked about seeing Sen. Thune naked in the US Senate gym locker room:

It occurs to me that if Hillary is to be the D nominee in 2016, John Thune might be a good counter to win back some of the female vote. That's where our politics is in the 21st century. It's not about issues anymore, it's all about identity politics.

You know this could work, Thune you can do TV ads in a red, white, and blue thong and gyrate his hips forward when he makes a point. He could maybe get half the woman vote and pick off a portion of gay males. His theme song when he is introduced could be " too sexy"

there are enough good choices out there: let's not get the field too crowded.

The more, the better. The field should be crowded so candidates can get their issues addressed.

I have to agree with Nmnita: too many cooks spoil the broth. What exactly is Thune bringing to the table that Cruz, Rubio, Paul, Jiindal, Jeb Bush, Chris Christie, Susana Martinez, Bobby Jindal. and Paul Ryan do not? Other than a lanky body that looks good in or out of clothes?

Default John Thune 2016?

Naw...

Better stick with Bachman, Cruz, Perry, Newt, Rmoney, the usual suspects. Maybe get Palin warmed up. She's got time on her hands.

He can help in Iowa and he is a good communicator, yes without charisma, but he won't get off message.

Maybe, but I think it is more likely you see him along with Cornyn going for McConnell's spot if he gets beat by Grimes.
