The Constitution was written in a way to make sure people had protected rights when establishing this country. If our founding fathers didn't think that was important, they could have easily denied those rights, which is exactly what they did, woman and minorities had no rights when this country was founded. That is a fact that you cannot deny.
I agree but there is a difference in saying here is a document of things the government cannot take from its citizens versus here is a document of the rights a citizen has. The first assumes everything not specifically written down is a right and the second assumes that the only rights a citizen has are those given to the citizen. The right believes the Constitution enumerates those things government is specifically restricted from taking from the citizens.
When you're talking at this level, it becomes more academic in nature. So, it's not something I think the average person will 'feel' as a citizen but rather a root in philosophy in how one governs.

If what you are saying we're true then every man, woman, and minority would have had the same rights at the birth of this country and we all know that is untrue.

Remember, that was the Republican argument historically and still is the root of the platform today.
It's no surprise that people would rather use the government to force their employer to pay them more, rather than work hard to acquire a skill set that would increase their earning potential. People want to be paid the maximum amount of wages, while doing the minimum amount of work.
Ignorance and laziness transcends party lines.
And who's to say an employer would pay you more because you have an acquired skill. If they don't have to, they won't. And why would they. They call the pay and you can either work for them or not.

Oh wow. This is basic stuff. If I have an excellent employee and do not want to lose them, I offer them something more to keep them in place. Could be a pay raise, new title, more time off, etc.
Of note, there's a couple of different way to approach your labor force in business - pay more for quality employees who can do more work or pay less for lesser skilled employees but have more of them. You can see this difference in fast food, grocery stores, etc. I don't shop at Walmart because they have that pay them less model because it's all about getting the lowest price to the consumer and their customer service is absolutely atrocious. I am willing to pay more to go elsewhere and pay more. But as an employee, you have that choice too. Go somewhere that pays more but understand you'll likely be expected to do more as well.

No not basic stuff. Without a minimum wage they can be paid whatever you want to pay them. You may be generous but many aren't.
No, the Republicans were the ones that actually fought FOR the rights to be applied equally. The preservation of rights and minimizing the power of government over the citizens is very much in line with the history and platform of the GOP. This is something easily found in both history books and by reading the GOP platform.

Present day political parties are not the same parties as historical parties.

If you're actually interested, read the current GOP platform. You'll see we haven't stopped believing in the same things, it's just the Democrats trying to say we have.
