RealClearPolitics - Election 2008
Romney has caught McCain in the polls at the national level. The 4 day moving average on Rasmussen has them both at 27%. Romney is 6 points ahead of McCain in Florida, but that was before McCain got the Crist endorsement.

I still see McCain up nationally by 6 points. McCain has now tied romney in florida and is leading romney in the zogby poll by 3 points.
I have to tell you that McCain is really annoying the hell out of me. I get a call from his campaign once a day or more and I'm not even a registered Republican.
Look at the last line. The 4 day moving average has them tied at the national level. This is a huge increase for Romney. And most of the recent polls in Florida clearly show him surging ahead, though he is ahead in the average of them all.

Polling on Sunday showed that McCain picked up four percentage points from the day before.Mitt Romney and Rudy Giuliani lost two points each and Mike Huckabee also slipped a point. As a result, it’s all tied heading into the final full day of campaigning before Florida’s Republican Presidential Primary.
The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in Florida shows McCain and Romney tied at 31%, Giuliani is a distant third at 16% and Huckabee is in fourth place at 11%. The number of persuadable voters is also dwindling. Only 2% are undecided and just 6% say there’s a good chance they could change their mind

This is the rasmussen poll that shows Romney ahead 28.8 to 28.5 in the average of all the polls. It's not much, but it clearly confirms that he's been surging since the debate. It's why McCain came out with his blatant lie about the timetables two days ago. He feels it slipping away.

His are the ONLY political calls I get.
Here's a tip until tomorrow. Shut the ringer off on your land line which is not the same as disconnecting the phone. The caller just assumes you aren't at home because the phone rings normally on their end. You just don't hear it.
McCain has lost it. He's lying or "stretching the truth" on things that Romney supposedly said. I think people are catching on. He's no prize.
