Aren't career politicians a problem that both sides of the aisle can agree on? Why does that make Bernie Sanders any different?

-Mayor of Burlington, VT: 1981-1989

-U.S. House of Representatives: 1989-2005

-U.S. Senator: 2005-2015 (Present)

Career politicians of any kind are bad news, and Bernie is just as bad as the rest in that regard.

I'm NOT a Sanders fan in that I don't support his presidential bid.
I'm not a loyalist to any party; I most often vote DEM, occasionally vote GOP, frequently financially support IND and other 3rd-party candidates.

All that said, I'd vote for Sanders 1000 times over before I'd vote for non career politicians Trump and Carson.

I have friends who are Sanders supporters. Although I disagree and frequently argue with them, I find them to be an informed and intelligent bunch.

But who cares he is a career politician when his plans all center around free stuff? The juvenile and lazy are immediately drawn to him.

Not a Sanders fan but unlike some on our side, at least he ran something big for 8 years before he went to Capitol Hell. I agree that he can't claim to be a Washington outsider.

I think the juvenile candidate in this race is Trump, who seems to have no knowledge of American government.

He's going to get Mexico to build a "big beautiful fence with a big door"? Good luck with that.

Bernie is not giving "free stuff" to people. He will be cracking down on banksters and ensuring that big business stays out of politics and corporations pay their fair share of taxes.

The money saved will be used for college tuition to American student. This is not a bizarre idea. Most western countries provide some or all - higher education to their citizens. More people working, less people homeless and on assistance.

Why should our country lag beyond all other industrialized nations?

We need Bernie 2016!

I did not vote because the options create a false choice. I am certainly happy that Bernie has the experience that he does in government.

Personally, I think that's a plus. What I do not want is a reckless blowhard businessman who has gone bankrupt three times and talks as though he is going to be elected king.
Trust Trump with my country? Not on your life.

Sanders has more brains, ethics, honesty, and INTEGRITY than the "career clowns" making up the GOP field.

1. He is the only candidate that might get us out of the wars. Not sending more of our kids over their to return dead or broken should be at the top of all of candidates list.

But he is a career politician, is he not? Are career politicians a burden to the political system in your opinion?
