He proposes more access to private retirement plans for workers in small business and encourages workers to remain in the workforce past traditional retirement age.

Jeb Bush Takes Aim at Washington Dysfunction - NBC News

It's not really a plan at all and as he admits, it will take bipartisan support, so it could look a lot different when finished.

Hopeless hail marry to energize and gain support IMO.

Hard to do politically, but raising the age before SS makes practical sense. People are living longer compared to FDRS intent. I'd take it later in life if needed.

So the reason primary Republican voters weren’t turning to him was because he did not have an entitlement reform plan. Now sit back and watch the polls explode.

This is a perfect example why specifics from politicians don't mean a dam thing. There is nothing specific in this plan. It is all subject to negotiations. I want to support the best negotiator running for office and that is TRUMP.

Jeb fails again. It should move him even farther down in the polls. We will see.

Is this the plan his daddy gave him after their confab in Texas? Any policy to supposedly helper workers in America is meaningless without a plan to staunch the flow of cheap, illegal labor and tax evasion.

Cutting SS payments to the wealthy and giving that money to the poor is a wash and will do nothing to save SS.

Literally take from the rich and give to the poor.

Would that make him a social Republican ?

I'm all for means testing. Millionaires don't need SS - I'd give up my share of SS if there was some sort of tax credit for me for giving up benefits.

That is so 1930s.

Why don't you read the reports prepared by the commissions appointed by Ford (Rockefeller) and Reagan (Volker) and get back to us.

Do read with special care the items about longevity, especially the parts about Life Expectancy from Age 65.

That was all addressed in the 1983 Social Security reforms.
