Today-Carson Tops Trump In Iowa GOP Caucus, Quinnipiac

Donald J. Trump has slipped into second place, falling behind the retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, in a Quinnipiac University poll of Republican caucusgoers in Iowa released on Thursday, marking the first time he has not held the lead in several weeks.

Riding support from evangelical voters and women, Mr. Carson received the support of 28 percent, compared to Mr. Trump’s 20 percent, among Republicans likely to take part in the caucuses. The results are a reversal from a Sept. 11 poll by Quinnipiac that showed Mr. Trump at 27 percent and Mr. Carson at 21 percent.

I don't see the appeal with Carson. I think in all honesty - He's just too nice and soft spoken... I won't vote for him...

574 people that would likely vote Republican were polled so accuracy might leave something to be desired. Details of the poll: http://www.quinnipiac.edu/images/pol...15_igv72sh.pdf

So why should we discard a zillion of other polls where Trump was on top and panic because of this?

Rick Santorum won the Iowa caucus in 2012 and Huckabee won it in 2008. Iowa Republican caucuses are out there by and large, and are hardly a reliable barometer for the rest of nation.

I've said all along that the real test for any of these candidates will be South Carolina.

This is true for Trump, Carson, and even Bernie Sanders.

Put down the coffee and relax. Not long ago Carson came within a point of Trump and people like you started wondering when he is going to drop out. In a matter of days the poll was outdated.

You are Out of Order, here, pal. That's a STINKING LIE. I never wondered or stated ANYTHING regarding Trump ''dropping out.''
