He borrowed against his investments. Whatever the sum, the interview indicated he had to put up twice as much as he wanted to borrow.
My question concerns his senate race. iF my DH had ambitions and put up everything we owned to run for a political seat, he'd be on the couch or in intensive care. ;-0
They must have a ton of money to risk it that way. Or a lot of ambition. I'm sure she could have made it back. They are young enough.
Since both Ted and Heidi are extremely successful in their careers, I am sure they felt sure that they could pay back the loans and, had Cruz lost, would continue to be successful in their careers and raise their family as planned. I think that Heidi was extremely involved in any decisions dealing with joint funds and believes enough in Ted as a public servant that could do some good in Congress, she had no issue with signing off on a joint loan against their assets to help fund his campaign against an establishment RINO with multiples of $$$$ in his campaign coffers.
Politicians lie, that is a fact. Whether a President, VP, Senate, Secretary of State...they ALL lie. Why should anyone be surprised? People will vote for them anyway, just choose the lesser of two evils.
The guy is so smart yet he did not have anyone go over his finances or the required filing's.
Very bad manager. Explains the "Green eggs and Ham" reading in the Senate, 1st. grade reading comprehension.
His financial team would be responsible for that. This isn't a big deal as it has already been reported, someone in the Republican party getting desperate re-hasing it again. The law can simply be complied with by filing an amendment.

Heidi was right! Thanks Heidi!
She was involved in the decision. They decided to go all in and win. It was their money, they aren't getting reimbursed for it. So, it is no big deal.

Rough when you can't admit your candidate has a responsibility to make sure his documents are correct and he failed to do so.

Why do you hate children? Cruz read "Green Eggs and Ham" to his daughters, as is his ritual when he is home with them.
Trying to mock a man who graduated with top honors from Harvard Law, and was called by leftist Alan Dershowitz, one of the smartest students he ever had and had BRILLIANT INSIGHTS. Dershowitz stated that the election of Ted Cruz to the senate raised the IQ of Congress.

So. yeah.
Grasping at straws is hard, when you are falling from the top.

I have no problem with it, because both loans appear on the 2011 and 2012 FEC filings, which are available to the public via opensecrets.org.
It is painfully obvious that you have never been involved in a substantial political campaign. Cruz doesn't sit in his kitchen counting out donation checks and filing out all the election filings. All serious campaigns enlist voluntary, or hire campaign treasurers that are responsible for overseeing campaign donations, managing expenses and preparing the required financial filings. If there was an oversight by the campaign treasurer with the FEC filing, it is likely a minor issues intended to be blown out of proportion and planted by Cruz opposition.
I have absolutely no problem standing by Cruz and defending his actions with regard to the non-issue.
