He described everything wrong with the USA today. He basically said TED is the only one to correct it, no matter how painful it may be.

That is what happens when the can is kicked way too far down the road.

Ted has also stated that he is not going to hide from his Christian belief in Jesus Christ, YET, he also knows that under our Constitution everyone has rights. I know that he would not force his view on anyone, and that is what I like about him. He is a Constitutionalist who believes in the ballot box making the decisions and not un-elected judges on the bench. For a Conservative candidate, he is the best pick for both sides.

I was going to post this, but the OP beat me to it. Reich just made the best argument for nominating and electing Ted Cruz I've seen yet.

Cruz is a bit of a holy roller, which isn't a political big turn on for me. But his other attributes are pretty much spot on.

His point was that Cruz has dangerous ideology and is inflexible. "Fanatic" is a good word to describe him. If that makes him an ideal GOP nominee, go for it.
