Its kind of funny how the GOP is now against a guy who is business oriented and prefers a guy(2 guys really) who has lived off Govt. jobs his entire adult life.

Donald Trump in Atlantic City: Jackpot or crackpot? - Press of Atlantic City: News
Trump's Atlantic City casino empire was built and funded by others. He deserves credit — perhaps grudging credit, but credit nonetheless – for this impressive feat. He was, indeed, one of the largest employers in South Jersey for decades. But he was no visionary, getting out ahead. Trump once had an Atlantic City empire. And he didn't sell it — he lost it.

Today, Trump is running for president, he says, to make people rich. How he fared in Atlantic City suggests a businessman savvy enough to build a temporary empire but one whose bankruptcies and eventual exit caused considerable pain for many people. While America knows Trump through his reality shows and golf courses, the residents here know him as a boss and civic figure, and their perspective may be the best available assessment of Trump’s claims that he can, as he says, “make America great again.”

Any more biased posts available that you can post? Like Trump is the only one over there who didn't succeed due to the economy. Did you keep paying your rent or your mortgage and if you own a home is your value still the same? Did you pay all your debt?

Did you create 1 job? If so is that person still working and got an increase and you pay their health care premium.

I do not see how the 2 guys behind Trump will get enough votes to beat him. The people who believe in Trump believe that the other's now own the country.

Kind of like the No-nothings of the early 1900's who were afraid of all those catholic, and eastern European immigrants.

Just being in the casino (gambling) business in the first place is a strike against Trump in my book. A predatory business that exploits human weakness and foolishness with a non-existent chance (the house always wins) at fast and easy money. Not much different than being a heroin pusher.

I find these pro-Trump arguments curious.

Donald Trump's entire platform is that Washington hasn't been able to pull America out of its economic mess, but that he can make America great again. Yet when he faced a tough economy in Atlantic City, he was no more able to make his executive formula work than others, and in a realm where he has ample experience.

As for job creation, it's ridiculous to equate a businessman like Trump with a public servant. Plenty of professions aren't direct job-creators, so comparing two very different fields like business and politics is a false equivalency. And let's face it, it's not like Trump mission in life is to create jobs. It's to build things with his name on them, some of which aren't even truly his. Job creation is only a byproduct of his lust for power and wealth. If you don't like the idea of serving a king, just wait till Trump becomes President. (He slips and uses the word "reign" to describe terms of office an awful lot, if you're paying attention.)

Donald Trump reminds me of the WWE, and his supporters of WWE fans who believe what they're seeing is real (and I suspect there's a lot of overlap between audiences). He's using his savvy in business and media to create an illusion, harnessing the aggression of frustrated Americans for his own gain. Sadly, he's wily enough that he's succeeding. The clues are everywhere but his supporters are willfully ignoring them.

I feel bad for Trump supporters. I really do. They're abandoning common sense and critical thinking in a desperate effort to vent their (justified) anger, and it's going to backfire—even more so if he gets elected.

Atlantic City's beginning of troubles was when slots and table games became
available at all the horse and dog tracks, then casinos were expanded in
New York state, Pennsylvania and Connecticut. Add all that to an introduction
of affordable and frequent flights to cheap hotels to Vegas which were new.
The place was no longer an exclusive destination for gambling needs.

Sometimes I wonder how many people who know what they are talking about
and actually remember events and subtleties of years past post on the internet.
It doesn't appear to be often, quite frankly, and the overall quality of news
writing is transparently sophomoric.

You need a Godzilla to take out Mothra.

Rubio or Cruz are no Godzillas.

The reason for Atlantic City's failure are other states started building their own casinos...in CT, PA, MA, NY etc. Who's going to drive 100s of miles just to gamble. In its heyday in the 80s Trump built the Taj, had Wrestlemania 4 and 5 there, was a winner!

I think John Kerry had a better slogan when he said "Let America Be Great Again". Trump should have just copied that one, "Let" does not make give the lib/progs the vapors like saying "Make". Make sounds like work and only racist white racist GOP expect people to work.

"Let" America Be Great Again.

If had actually read them in full you would have noted that they are far more objective than the topic required. So yes I could have found far more critical articles on the subject.
