Conservative favorite Ben Carson, who last week suspended his campaign for the Republican presidential nomination, plans to endorse Donald Trump on Friday morning, according to two people familiar with his thinking.

The endorsement, perhaps the most high-profile nod for Trump since New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie backed him, was finalized Thursday morning when Carson met with Trump at Mar-a-Lago, the luxury club owned by the Republican front-runner, the people said. The sources requested anonymity to discuss private conversations.

Friday’s announcement will also take place at the club in Palm Beach, Fla., where the onetime rivals will appear alongside one another at a news conference.

thought Dr Ben was smarter than that - I had my suspicions about him - great ped neurosurgeon - bad judge of character for POTUS.

I hope he's selected as the running mate. Could you imagine the liberal heads exploding? Donald Trump, alongside a conservative black man. There is nothing a progressive hates more than a conservative person of color.

Interesting but not unexpected.

Bad news however for Ted Cruz.

Carson better be careful, showing up to one of Trumps cult meetings, lest he be mistaken for ISIS by another John McGraw in the crowd......

That has GOT to chap Cruz's a**. If you listen REAL CLOSE, you can hear the sound of thousands of tiny evangelicals, crying and wailing in despair. Here is the church, here is the people, open the door and hear all the sheeple wailing "God! Why hast thou ABANDONED us?"

God favors armies with the most cannon.

I'm glad Carson came out and endorsed the right man. Truly sets himself apart as a man of character, right on!

I knew our frontrunner would have a Trump card for the ambush tonight.

Doesn't matter even if he does. Most of Carson's voters have moved to Cruz and a Carson endorsement for Trump wont change that.

I would expect this. I don't recall Trump and Carson going at it. The Cruz campaign sent out the message in Iowa that Carson was leaving the race.
