They have refused Obama's choice for supreme court Justice, in favor of voting after this next presidential election.

If they were planning on a contested convention and defaulting to Hillary by offering up one of their unpopular establishment choices, there would be no need to wait until after this presidential election to vote. This tells me they find it extremely important to put a conservative judge in there. They are assuming they will win the presidency.

The only way they will win the next presidency is if they coalesce behind the frontrunner who has a high crossover appeal.

It's my belief with this move, they have decided to embrace Trump as their potential nominee.

It makes sense if you really think about it.

Has nothing to do with Trump or Hillary. They did it because they are not interested in anything having to do with Obama, its been that way most of his term.

You know what they say about "assume"? Even Mitch capitulates later, the initial reaction would always be NFW. Isn't that in the Art of Deal?

It has to do with policy. Hillary agrees with Obama on just about everything.

Good! It should be an easy win for Hillary Clinton.

Don't get me wrong, I don't trust the Republican party anymore. I feel every decision they make is made in an effort to benefit them and not the people. But this year, there is quite a bit on the line. I see them sticking to the decision to wait until after the election.

I really don't think the decision is down to the race of the president. Come on. (or were you being sarcastic?)
