uh huh.....beyond laughable.

U.S. domestic politics isn't their focus. As James Carville would say, "It's the economy, stupid". In this case, the world's economy.

The Economist is a big promoter of free trade agreements and globalism, so Trumpistas will take this article as a complement. I did think it was funny though that they listed a Trump election as a bigger threat to the global economy than jihadi terrorism.

Well summarized. It's quite sad to watch people who dislike someone (trump or whoever) get all foamy at the mouth with the "See see see!!" without understanding the dynamics and the agenda at play and just react in emotional mode. Seems to be a common mode by many where logic/critical thinking goes out the door and the reptilian emotional component of the brain takes over.

Note to US school system.....teach basic reading comprehension and critical thinking in basic reading material, stressing to be wary of those who are labeled "the experts", especially on topics where opinions/predictions are a dime a dozen.

In the 1990s I used to read The Economist every week from cover to cover, until I started reading articles about certain subjects that I through personal experience knew more about than the journalists writing them and I realized that it is a rag like any other newspaper, so I dropped it.

It has about as much authority as National Review or The New York Times, i.e. none.

It is a rag.

The Economist is partly Rothschild-owned.

WOW WHAT A SURPRISE !!! NEVER THOUGHT THAT WOULD HAPPEN !!!

The most important information is found in the conclusion :

It is worth noting that the innate hostility within the Republican hierarchy towards Mr Trump, combined with the inevitable virulent Democratic opposition, will see many of his more radical policies blocked in Congress - albeit such internal bickering will also undermine the coherence of domestic and foreign policymaking.

Translation : Rep. elites know better than the voters. Hillary is better choice that any Rep. An last but not least : internal bickering over the lat 7 + years is OK but it's only going to be important in the future with Trump
