A group of rabbis is planning to boycott Donald Trump’s speech next week before a leading pro-Israel advocacy group, a sign of growing unease among many Jewish leaders about the populist campaign being waged by the Republican presidential front-runner.
Is this supposed to be a good thing or a bad thing in regards to winning electoral votes?
So why does it matter? Or, who does it matter too? I don't care that Rabbis plan to boycott a Trump speech. I do care about separation of church and state though.
Yeah I think Rabbis should be more worried about a Cruz Presidency versus a Trump .
Trump was INVITED to this AIPAC conference. In 2010 when Hillary was Secretary of State a bunch of rabbis threatened to boycott her speech as well. Yawn.
Cruz wasn't even invited....he invited himself when he heard Trump was skipping the debate to attend the conference.

False. Every candidate was invited to speak. The issue was that some people felt that Trump, and Trump alone, should not be invited because of what he's been saying.
I have seen Jewish posters being very negative about Clinton and others including Trump. One Jewish friend of mine is constantly being over the top negative about Trump that I'm about to block the posts of my Facebook but still will be friends. After all friendship is more than politics and we don't have to discuss politics.

If that is true, why was Cruz planning to attend the debate instead of the conference?

Because it's three days long and there are many other time periods available for the candidates to speak if they wanted.
I'm no Cruz fan but he is a good debater and Trump is afraid to go up against him without more people to dilute the comparison between someone who is all talk and no substance and someone with substance (batcrap crazy substance, but still substance)
