I do admire someone who does not cave to political pressure to fire someone etc... (the whole battery charges issue)
But I would say that might be the only moment of Donald's town hall that I appreciated a bit from him. I was not there and can't really tell from the security video what happened... so I will not make a judgment on that.
What I can say though is that 95% of what I saw of Donald reeked of arrogance and unabashed narcissism.
The look on the audience members face who asked him the question "When was the last time you made a mistake and what did you learn from it" was priceless. I think he lost that guys vote for sure. His answer did not remotely come close to an actual answer.
Contrast this to when Ted Cruz was speaking to the man who lost his son in a VA hospital to overdose.
On a personal level, I don't think Trump is all that likable, yet he is closest to many of my views. He wouldn't be someone I'd want to hang around with, but that doesn't mean he wouldn't be a good president.
I think Trump can get away with a lot of things he says as a billionaire businessman and a reality star, but he needs to be more like a president in order to gain support.
Cruz, on the other hand, has said a lot of crazy things and made a lot of fatal mistakes. Many of his views are quite dangerous. For example: bomb the hell out of ISIS and muslim neighborhood patrol, gay marriage is the biggest threat of our liberty. Since he is viewed as a Principled conservative, he is just crazier.
IN all fairness, Trump also supports Muslim neighborhood patrol and bomb the hell out of ISIS. But his (Trump) views are based upon neo-isolationism. He is less dangerous compare to GOP or Tea party hawks.
In my opinion only.

I vote we take each of the remaining candidates' best aspects (for Cruz, not sure what that would be? That he's from Texas? ) and create a presidential candidate we all can get behind.
Oops, time for me to snap out of my fantasy.

Reason: Grammatical boo-boo.
The Donald is serving a very useful purpose in the Republican party right now; like a mirror that reflects back what is on the inside rather than the outside, he is showing the party all their numerous shortcomings and a whole lot of people don't like what they see.
He is a very smart guy and one who prides himself on making up his own mind rather than pandering just to get approval. He panders too, just when he does it he is stating his own opinion - like on immigration, a wall or Muslims. All these folks who think he is like Hitler or will start WW3 I believe are completely misjudging him. Sure he has a huge ego (to the point of fault) but what president in the last 50 years did not have a huge ego (Obama, Bush, Clinton, Reagan, etc.)
I don't know if he would be a good president but he would most certainly be a departure from the usual assembly line Republicans who say one thing and do another. He also has a real chance of getting elected unlike Cruz who might win the Presidency of an independent Texas but never would the USA vote in mass for that guy.

I don't get how you come up with the fact that he is the closest to many of your views! He changes his, even within the same interview, let alone daily or depending on who is asking a question. The man has been a liberal far longer and stronger than he has ever been a conservative. I am going to go with Ted Cruz. He was stronger on the border before trump was talking about it and does not go wobbly back and forth constantly. Our immigration laws just need enforcement for one thing.

I wouldn't like Trump on a personal level either.
I do trust his private sector executive experience and like his vision for the U.S. compared to the rest of the politicians. They believe in open borders, endless wars and are fiscally irresponsible, which has weakened our country.
If anyone has made a mistake and should say they're sorry, it is the politicians for where they have taken this country.

Some people were saying that when 17 were in the running. Now with only three it's still a good fantasy.

It's the opposite for me. I bet he is pretty fun to hang out with. But entrusting him with the country . . . don't think so.
