It's the PUMAS all over again. The few Bernie supporters making veiled threats of sitting it out or voting for Trump are getting caught up in the heat of battle, much like Hillary supporters did back in 2008. Once the dust settles on the Democratic primaries and the reality of a possible Trump presidency dawns on them, they'll flock to Hillary in droves.
Voting for the Clown isn't a matter of cutting your nose to spite your face, it's lopping off your entire arm.

That's a great analogy, Hillary in 2008. McCain was so caught up in the existence of this mythical creature -- the disaffected Clinton voter, that he cynically thought putting a woman on his ticket would attract all of these disaffected Clinton voters. It didn't. Clinton supporters almost unanimously voted for Obama.
Someone who is progressive believes in certain values, such as the rich are taxed to pay for a social safety net and the government should provide certain services, like health insurance. Trump believes the rich should get a $1.3 million, on average, tax cut and that we should return to the health insurance system before Obamacare. Bernie voters, who understand the issues, aren't going to vote for Trump.
Progressives don't support the use of nuclear weapons.
So if you want to support Trump, please go ahead, it's your right and your privilege as Americans, but just don't call yourselves Progressives.
Bernie supporters will vote for Trump because Trump is none of the things you list. Real progressives know this. It's Hillary supporters pretending to be "progressive" that don't.

Trump constantly makes misogynist statements; his views on Mexicans and Muslims is xenophobic and racist; he clearly is a nationalist. Trump said that he would "go beyond" waterboarding, which means that he supports torture. Trump also said he won't rule out using nuclear weapons against ISIS.
All of those statements describe Trump. Denying the obvious hurts your credibility.

I was one of those PUMAs in 2008. I voted for McCain -- but I live in California where it didn't matter. If it had, I would have voted for Obama.

Bernie supporters will actually write in "Bernie Sanders" and vote for neither Trump or Clinton.
