Should the RNC sue the candidates who took the pledge to support the nominee and then didn't follow through? Preibus said they got RNC data for taking that pledge so there is a monetary value to it.
I think after the election the RNC should sue them.
This shows how much character they (don't) have. Typical politicians acting like typical politicians.
It's very disappointing. No wonder people are fed up with all of that.
And if there's a pledge -- like Ms Kelly insisted pressing Trump on way back at the beginning - insisted way beyond reason...a person should have the integrity to say "yes" or "no" or "possibly" but not lie about it.
Nobody is 'forcing' pledges; none of them have to lie about it, except as they think it benefits them to do so.
OP, you really think that the RNC is that gung-ho in support of the Buffoonanator after he gets beat in November that it would waste a dime on a frivolous lawsuit that might open a Pandora's Box? That's assuming RNC will have even a spare dime after the Trump debacle.
I sincerely doubt the 'pledge' would hold up in court, so why waste everyone's time and money with a frivolous lawsuit? If, in fact, it was allowed to proceed in a court of a law, I doubt any judge would rule in favor of the RNC.
If a person were to testify that Trump's statements, actions and declarations violated that person's moral ethics or code or religious beliefs, I believe the judge would rule in his/her favor.
It would also be hugely embarrassing to both the RNC and Trump, as there would be explicit language and quotes used and repeated in open court, some of which may be considered profane, racist, discriminatory or vulgar and inappropriate in civil society.
When I saw the title, I thought, yeah, the RNC should sue trump for such a lousy convention. Everyone got so bored last night that a lot of seats were empty by 10:00. I guess there is only so much trash talking of the competition that even republicans can take.
The last thing we need is more litigation. Not following through on that pledge speaks volumes--that's enough.
