While violent crimes have decreased over the last two decades, the New York Times and even the Washington Post have done articles that show significant increase in violent crimes in major cities. Here's a few from 2015 and 2016:
A 76% increase in murder rates in Milwaukee, a 60% increase in murder rates in St. Louis, a 55% increase in murder rates in Baltimore, and more, all in one year.
An interesting quote from FBI Director Comey which really sort of sums it all up--more people are dying, and we don't really know why:
“Something people say to me, ‘Well, the increases are off of historic lows,'” Comey said during a discussion Wednesday with reporters at the bureau’s headquarters in Washington. “How does that make any of us feel any better? I mean, a whole lot more people are dying this year than last year, and last year than the year before, and I don’t know why for sure.”
I guess if you're not living in a major city, you may not feel the need to be concerned about it.

Even if murder rates have increased slightly in the last 2 years, that doesn't mean the country is on the verge of collapse, and certainly doesn't mean we should abandon checks and balances and install a strongman.
Still can't get it right? You must live in the echo chamber. America has had a fairly prosperous last 7 years compared to where we were when Obama started. Trump's absurd rhetoric that we are on the verge of collapse is pure fantasy, and the same kind of nonsensical fear that fascists use to gain power.

Unemployment figures are not reflective of the millions ....get it ...millions of people dropping out of the workforce. Not all baby boomers either. Oh how about the 278,000 jobs created last month. More part time lower paying jobs make up the lions share of these figures.
What you need to do is this, speaking of pure fantasy , get into the real world and away from your code for a minute and above all else have the courage to make up your own mind. Without resorting to trite liberal nonsense. No offense ok. Every word and idea you present is just learned and repeated for effect. Nothing more sorry to say it.

I don't get the absurd attitude many cons have that you are not a "real American" unless you are a poor farmer in Iowa.
Trump's supporters don't care about facts, reality, or substance; they just care that someone has figured out how to give them the fix that pushes their buttons of paranoia, fear, and anger just right. Get them pissed off enough about foreigners as the source of all their problems and they'll **** all over themselves.
Of course Hillary is corrupt. But she at least is qualified for the job, understands the role and the powers of the presidency, and is not likely to start world war 3 by going on a tirade against any foreign leader who slights her in the least.

Trump said the Post is more interested in "clicks" than journalistic integrity. That can probably be said for a lot of the media these days, but you can imagine that did not sit well. Trump met with the Post board at one point--not sure exactly when--but apparently it did not fix things.
After the Orlando terrorist attack, the Post put up a first headline, "Donald Trump Suggests President Obama Was Involved With Orlando Shooting." They soon---within a few hours--changed it to, "Donald Trump Seems to Connect President Obama to Orlando Shooting." But Trump didn't say that, or come anywhere close to it, and that's where the dust up began. Trump has been critical of Obama's handling of ISIS, but so have a lot of people.
The Post has been excessively harsh to Trump since he revoked their credentials and tends to twist what he says.
