Could a really rich supporter or a company who supports one of the candidates say they'll give 100,000 families who enter a 'drawing' 100 bucks each free and clear if their candidate wins, you enter the drawing, the first 100k families win but aren't told who has won until after the election is over and if that guy's or gals candidate wins, 100k families get 100 bucks each. i guess you would have to offer these drawings in major cities in swing states, but wouldn't something like this be more effective than purchasing a bunch of television ads?

can this actually work?

The only reason someone would do that is if he couldn't win the normal way.

I think that it is probably illegal to buy votes no matter how deceptively it is done.
