Did he do it legally?

That is the only question.

No, we are still trying to track all that money Bush lost during the Iraq war.

The point of Trump's tax dodge isn't that it's illegal; it's that he exploits loopholes for rich people while giving all this populist rhetoric about how he's for making America great again. He does the high-end tax loopholes, he offshores his businesses and profits from cheap Chinese labor, he stiffs small business contractors when it suits him. Not a guy who has demonstrated any personal commitment to anything he talks about.

And I don't think this is what Trump is hiding in his tax returns; I think there is something else out there. If this is all it was, he would have released them a long time ago. Everyone knows that harvesting tax losses is not illegal.

It's strange that the dems are trying to make something out a business loss that everyone already knew about.

I didn't need this I already know......If you were following the discussion we were discussing Federal taxes do not pay for the police, firemen and roads. The poster was claiming federal taxes pay for this.

I know where my tax money goes and how the rich have breaks the rest of us don't. But, in post #150 it shows the real estate industries have pushed for the tax codes that Trump is allowed to use. So Trump and all other real estate people get the same break, are you people going after other real estate investors or just Mr. Trump?

What's even more strange they want him to pay on loss of income. This is what happens when people pay accountants to do their taxes and never get involved, they just gladly pay and don't even know what they are paying or losing.

Make no mistake, from Middle Eastern wars and massive government surveillance to deficits, George W,'s influence on America is still here no matter who occupies the WH.

It's a concept known as D-E-S-P-E-R-A-T-I-O-N

There is nothing of any substance for them to hold onto when it comes to damaging Trump, and probably even less where it concerns boosting Hillary, they'll jump at anything like a starving fish.

Lets say a family of (husband, wife, 15 year old son) with a household income of $50k. For 2015 the government allows a

Standard deduction (Married Filing Jointly): $12,600
Personal exemption amount is $4,000 each: $12,000
Total: $24,600.00

Income: $50,000
Minus Deductions: $24,600.00

$25,400 is the amount the government deems this family needs to live on before they can start taking money from this family. That's not much. There are ways to reduce also ways that you could end up having to pay more, the tax code is very complicated.

That is government tax law written by politicians.
