Hillary Clinton and her team believed that if Trump was the Republican candidate, she had a 'sure thing' at winning:

So it seems that Clinton and DNC believed it would be tougher to win against Marco Rubio and other potential candidates.

There's no chance in hell any of the other GOP primary candidates could have pulled together as much support as Trump did, he talked to people who haven't voted in decades and brought in support from people who have steered clear of politics for a long time.

The only reason it was close was because Trump was her opponent. Any other candidate would have beaten her easily, except maybe Cruz.

Working class finally were listened to. This revolt was pushed to the finish line by the Rust Belt.

She lost because all her crooked secrets saw the light of day, with low energy, lightweight, little and lyin opposition, they would have just run a different campaign, they wouldnt' have screamed 'she's a crook' from the mountaintops like Trump did. He WILLED himself into the office, these other guys would'nt have been as forceful

You don't think the Assange emails would have been released anyway? You don't think any of the email scandal would have been released anyway?

I actually think she would have lost in even wider margins. Many conservative Republicans didn't bother to vote because they didn't like Trump.

yes, but they would haven't had the same effect as they did with trump yelling about them on a daily basis at 5 rallies per day, calling hillary crooked, talking openly about corruption....i dont think jeb or marco would have talked much about this, ted would have brought it up, but i dont think he would have been over the top with it

Actually, I've read that the voter turnout from ultra-conservative voters was up this year, as opposed to the past two elections.

They finally learned from their mistake of not getting out and supporting McCain and Romney. They didn't see Obama as quite the evil that they see Hillary as being, which was shortsighted, as we later learned.

This election was a mandate AGAINST Hillary, as much as anything. America hates Hillary, that's just how it is. Even her "supporters" didn't really seem to like her, they just rode along because she was all they had once she cheated Bernie out of the race. When you even have extreme left wing people like Roseanne Barr and Susan Sarandon refusing to support the liberal candidate, you know she's a dud.
